Event Details

You are invited to join us at F.D.R. State Park for our Astronomy Night!

Staff and students from the Space Science Center will have telescopes set up in the baseball field, across the road from Liberty Pool on September 28th. We will begin at 8:00 pm with a presentation by Dr. Williams on objects in the fall evening skies, then (weather permitting) move to a tour of the night sky, and close-ups with the telescopes. As the night sky darkens, we will try to find harder-to-see objects. The phase of the Moon will also be Waning Crescent making it easier to find more dim objects.

This event is free, but there may be a parking fee for the state park. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on the grassy field. Meet at the baseball field off Rte. 354, opposite of the Liberty Bell Pool!
