This Wintertime concert, Four Leaf Clovers, features a number of incredible artists and performers, starting with the highly acclaimed Irish band Wolf and Clover, headed by Dr. Matthew McCabe. They will perform a number of Irish arrangements including The Congress, The Walton Jig, and Phrygian Whistle that will be delivered with a variety of instruments and singing, all with a nod to the rich musical history of Ireland. Next, Schwob pianist Longfei Li will perform Mendelssohn’s stunningly wonderful Variations, op. 54. This works uses the incredible colors our Yamaha Disklavier offers to its fullest. The program will conclude with our  Schwob Clarinet Quartet, who will offer the American premiere of Victoriano Valencia’s Negro y Oscuro, and wildy colorful and rhythmic piece. Visual designs will be done by Mercer Professor of Art and Chair of their Art Deparment, Craig Coleman, a gifted artist with a history of creating unique visual designs.
